Priscilla Lloyd Thursday 7 August 2003
And while Wordsworth was wandering lonely as a cloud, what were the women in the Romantic circle doing? Well, the letters of one Priscilla Lloyd who was married to Wordsworth's brother Christopher, offer us a unique insight.

Priscilla was born in 1781, the sixth child of Charles Lloyd, a prominent Quaker ? they were both strong personalities and she and her father fought for six years before he finally agreed to let her marry Christopher.
Now Priscilla's correspondence has been donated to the Wordsworth Trust - Caz Graham went to explore her diaries and letters to find out more about her life.
