Being thrifty - when is frugality just plain mean? 02 December 2003
Now that the Christmas shopping season is underway we ask when is being thrifty with the pennies simply being mean?

Jane Furnival has written Mr. Thrifty's Guide On How To Save Money On Absolutely Everything, and believes that being thrifty is a life-skill which gives enormous personal satisfaction, while Rita Konig, columnist for Vogue magazine, gets a chill down her spine just at the idea of thriftiness! "Why scrimp for bits and pieces for presents" she says, "when it could all arrive in tissue paper?"

Jane and Rita join Jenni to discuss when frugality becomes just plain mean.
