When and why did the persection of witches originate? Modern history lecturer and occult science expert, Dr. Peter Maxwell-Stuart of the University of St Andrews explains.

Jenni is joined by Edel Brosnan the author of drama The First Witch , to discuss the story of a 14th century Irish woman, Dame Alice Kyteler of Kilkenny, who was the first in Europe to be put on trial for witchcraft in 1324.
