The orgasm 17听May 2004
Why have attitudes changed so much towards the female variety?

100 years ago most people thought the female orgasm听didn't exist, and that women who enjoyed sex were mentally ill. Today we seem to be bombarded almost daily with tips on how to achieve the ultimate orgasm.

But why does the female orgasm exist at all when it's not essential for reproduction? And why do some women have lots of the earth-shattering variety, while some never experience them at all? Jenni talks to Jonathan Margolis, the author of a new book on the orgasm and to sex columnist for The Times, Suzie Godson.

Jonathan Margolis, O: The intimate history of the orgasm, Publisher: Century
Suzie Godson, The Sex Book, Publisher: Cassell Illustrated
