How she helped 'plot' the most critical hours of the war
On 6 June 1944 Mary James was just 19 and arrived for work as usual at Bentley Priory where she was stationed as a WAAF. In the operations room it was her job to take in updates from the frontline and 'plot' troop movements on a huge map of Britain and Europe .
It soon became apparent that this shift was unlike any other听as Mary and her fellow WAAFs 'plotted' the biggest troop invasion in history -听D-Day.
Jenni talks to Mary about her memories of World War II's most critical day.
