Nine out of ten sufferers are women

Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC ) is one of the leading causes of liver transplant in the UK and nine out of ten sufferers are women.

Ten years agoÌý Colette ThainÌý who suffers from the disease set up the PBC Foundation, and nowÌýshe is about to receive an MBE for her services to PBC sufferers.

ColetteÌýand Dr Michael Heneghen, PBC specialist at the Liver Unit, Kings College Hospital in LondonÌýjoin Jenni to discussÌýthe problemsÌýof diagnosis and why GPs need to be made more aware of the disease.Ìý
