The artist who's not afraid of controversy.

Maggi Hambling is a figurative painter, sculptor and printmaker whose exuberant presence has enlivened the British art world for over 20 years.

Last month she caused a scandal at the Royal AcademyÌýby submitting a painting of Michael Jackson together with a note arguing that he was innocent of child abuse charges. The painting was rejected by the Royal Academy but is now on show at another London gallery.

MaggiÌýtalks to Jenni about her life and her work and why she felt the need to defend Michael Jackson.

Maggi Hambling's portrait of Michael Jackson is on display at Marlborough Fine Art's summer showÌýin Albermarle Street, LondonÌý
