From TV soaps to stage directing

You may remember her as Michelle Fowler from Eastenders in the 1980s. You may even remember her as Suzanne Ross in Grange Hill before that. Since then Susan Tully has opted for a life behind the scenes, producing and directing TV drama.

She has chosen the Edinburgh Festival for her first time out as a theatre director with Jonathan Harvey's Taking Charlie.

She tells Jenni why she now prefers directing to acting.

Taking Charlie by Jonathan Harvey is on at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh until 30 August
