Its history and why it's still popular today

A new exhibition featuring quilts from as far back as 1790 opens at the Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery in Carlisle later this month. And despite the dominance of the duvet, the quilting tradition is still going strong.

From family heirloom to political statement and back again, Woman's Hour explores the appeal of the gentle art of quilting.
