Should Muslim women be allowed to become spiritual leaders?

The imam, a religious preacher and educator,听is the most powerful figure in the Muslim community. Until now, they have听always been听a man.

The Islamic Association of China has granted licences to female Imams, saying they were answering the wish of the people. So what are the implications for Muslim women in Britain, and will it start a debate听to allow them to听become spiritual leaders?

Jenni talks to听Aina Khan听and Haleh Afshar. Jin Meihua,based at a mosque in China, joins the discussion.
