Why is it that we're so obsessed with the details of other people's lives? In the bookshops sales of biographies are booming: not sanitised stories but the warts-and-all tales of the lives of the famous.
But just how far should a biographer go in her pursuit of the "truth" and how has this genre changed over the years?
