A curriculum for toddlers? 16 Nov 2005
What about play?

Last week the government published plans for what has been dubbed a "national curriculum" for babies and toddlers in registered childcare. The headlines talked of "Death by worksheet" and "Orwellian" plans for toddlers to be "taught to speak by state diktat". But what exactly was announced? Jenni asks 大象传媒 Education Correspondent Mike Baker to separate fact from fiction and explain the Government's proposals

Are we in danger of being too prescriptive when it comes to Early Years? What about play for play's sake? Jenni is joined by Iram Siraj-Blatchford, Professor of Early Childhood at the Institute of Education University of London and Margaret Morrissey from the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations to discuss.
