Emotional literacy in school 05 Dec 2005
Are teachers best placed to teach emotion?

The Government is piloting a scheme to teach emotional literacy. The pilot will take place in 50 secondary schools in 6 Local Education Authorities, and if successful, it could be rolled out across schools in England and Wales. The move to teach emotion has already been tested in primary schools.

But are teachers the best people to do this? And is school the best place to learn? Joining Jenni in the studio are psychotherapist Brett Kahr and Jill Kirby from the Centre For Policy Studies.
