Publication of the indepent inquiry into Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust.
The results of a government-commissioned inquiry into one of the worst scandals in the history of the NHS has just published its findings. The inquiry chaired by Robert Francis QC听, a prominent medical lawyer, is the third in-depth look at what went wrong at Mid Staffordshire Hospitals Trust. The health watchdog the Care Quality Commission identified Mid Staffordshire Health Trust as the worst in Britain in a report last year. It said poor care had contributed to between 400 and 1200 unnecessary deaths at Stafford and Cannock Chase Hospitals. Kieran Mullen from the Patients Association has seen the inquiry report. We hear his reaction.
