Biofuel is seen by many as a ‘greener’ option for filling up the car. The government was so keen to support this industry that they have been subsidising it by 20p a litre, a cost which has meant that biofuel can be sold at a similar price to other fuels such as unleaded petrol. But from April 1st, that 20p a litre subsidy disappears and, as a result, Morrisons have stopped selling one of their higher grade biofuels - B30 - a bio-diesel mix.
