At the very beginning of the decade Lego and Etch-a-Sketch were introduced; they were so popular they survived through the 60s into the next three decades and are still around today!

The British rival to Barbie came on to the market in 1962 and she was branded as 鈥淪indy, the doll you鈥檒l love to dress鈥. Boys had to wait until 1966, when Action Man was created, so that they could have a doll of their own!
Later, in 1966 and 鈥67, group games like Twister and Frisbee were invented.
But the advertising of toys was nothing like it is today and most children in Scotland were still happy to find entertainment without toys. Most children spent a lot of time outside playing things like hide-and-seek.
