Congratulations!! All the very, VERY best to both of you! # Looked clearly like a joyous celebration. Did you have folks come over from the ex-colonies? # Enjoy life in your new home/country, but don't forget the good ole USA. Come and see us sometimes!!

My best friend came over - and now she and a local farmer are madly in love. And my wee cousin Becky Little Weasle came as well! It was so wonderful to have both of them here!

M., you call your cousin Becky a little weasel? A term of endearment in the islands? # I have always suspected that there was something unfathomably sexy about farmers: and now my hunch has proved correct. No longer do women leave the ferry in one of the Orkney islands that they tumble into the hands of a farmer. Whatever happened to the lure of yonder (Kirkwall, Stornoway, Lerwick) city lights?

I am a Metis person from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. One of my ancestors, George Spence, who was born in 1773, comes from the Orkney Islands.

What part of Orkney?

I could not find a George Spence born in the Orkneys in 1773, only in 1772.
