On Saturday 25 June 2011, Edinburgh plays host to , an event to raise awareness of the work done by men and women serving in the British Armed Forces, and an opportunity for people to show their support.

in the south of the city, is situated between Redford and Dreghorn barracks, and most of its pupils have parents serving in the military. The school is heavily involved in Armed Forces Day, with pupils singing at Holyrood Palace and launching an exhibition at .
