Have you got what it takes to write and perform stand up comedy and capture it all on video? This L.A.B and 大象传媒 Scotland Comedy workshop will have you writing, filming and performing. This workshop is suited to comedy beginners.听
How do I apply for the workshop?
Apply by emailing a comic biography of yourself (no more than 500 words) to labscotland@bbc.co.uk

Note: The film will be edited at the 大象传媒 by the L.A.B team and posted on the L.A.B online site, it may also appear on online comedy site.
What will I be expected to do?
You will be asked to bring 2-3 minutes of stand up material to the workshop (this should be original material which you have written yourself). You should be prepared to be filmed performing your material. 听You will also have the opportunity have a go at being the sound person/ camera/ director. You will be supported by 大象传媒 staff, who facilitate the workshop.
Any other information?
You will have to sign a release form to allow us to put your work on the L.A.B online gallery. Lunch is not provided. If you have any additional support needs please let us know.

听大象传媒 Scotland L.A.B & 大象传媒 Comedy Stand Up Workshop
1.听听听听听 Entry is open to all UK residents over 18 years old at the time entry closes. 大象传媒 employees and persons connected to the competition and their close relatives are not eligible to enter.听 Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be requested. Entries must be from one individual (ie no collective submissions) and are limited to one per person.
2.听听听听听Submissions can only be made by email to labscotland@bbc.co.uk between 4th and 28th July 2011. Entries received after 5pm on 28th July 2011 will not be considered.
3.听听听听听 The submission must consist of a comedy biography telling us about yourself in a funny way. No more than 500 words.
4.听听听听听By entering, you confirm that your submission is: (i) your own original work and does not infringe any third party鈥檚 rights, (ii) has not previously been performed or published, (iii) does not infringe any UK laws, and (iv) you have the necessary rights to give the 大象传媒 permission to use it for the purposes specified.
5.听听听听听The Production Team will review all eligible entries and make a selection based on the following criteria: (i) is the material original (ii) is it funny (iii) is it suitable for broadcast.
6.听听听听听The Production Team鈥檚 decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.听
7.听听听听听The workshop will consist of the opportunity to attend a one day workshop at the 大象传媒 Venue听 大象传媒@Potterrow, Corner of Marshall Street and Potterrow, University of Edinburgh, EH8 9BT in Edinburgh. The workshops are tentatively scheduled to take place on 23rd/24th/25th August 2011. These dates may change. The opportunity does not include any travel or accommodation costs. Your place on the workshop cannot be transferred to another person.
8.听听听听听Should the successful applicants not be available after reasonable attempts to contact him/her, the 大象传媒 reserves the right to select another entrant.
9.听听听听听By submitting your comedy biography you grant to the 大象传媒, free of charge, permission to use the material in any way it wants (including modifying and adapting it for operational and editorial reasons) for 大象传媒 services in any media worldwide (including on the 大象传媒's site accessed by international users).
10. Copyright in your contribution will remain with you and the aforementioned permission is non-exclusive. You can continue to use the material in any way you wish and you can also permit others to use the material.
11. Contributions cover all contributions made by the entrants in connection with this competition, including but not limited to any performance and spoken, written and artistic materials (incl. audio and video recordings thereof).
12. All entries may be used in publicity campaigns post competition. Photographs of workshops may also be used in publicity campaigns.听
13. The 大象传媒 reserves the right to (i) cancel or change the workshop, , (ii) disqualify any entrant who breaches the rules or who commits fraud or enters a piece of work that is obscene; or (iii) if in their opinion it is deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside its control.
14. The 大象传媒 will only use personal details for the purposes of administering this workshop, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without permission. You can read more about the
