Hey Edison
Hey Edison

Hey Edison in profile

Telford band Hey Edison have a lot to look forward to over the next few months after their recent EP launch and slot at the Reading Festival.

Formed in November 2004 at New College in Wellington, Hey Edison have spent the last 18 months rehearsing and playing to audiences around the county and beyond including the popular Reading Festival. The five local lads have created increasing industry interest with the band signing a record deal in 2006 and plans to release a single in the winter.

"You get that vibe and go with it. You feed off each other... feed off the crowd."
Hey Edison

Describing themselves as a groove band, Hey Edison’s aim at every gig is to get people dancing. Their blend of funky bass lines, fluid guitar and feel good rhythms ensure there is a party atmosphere at all their live shows and has seen them build up a large fan base in the local area.

The band comprises of Aiden on vocals, guitarist Adam, bassist Liam, Pete on keyboards and Graeme on the drums. All five of them share a passion for any kind of music that will make people dance and it is this philosophy which unites them to write for Hey Edison.

Combining elements of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Maroon 5 and Jamiroquai, Hey Edison have big plans for the future. With their Reading Festival slot, record deal and forthcoming single they are set for great things.

With Hey Edison’s profile continuing to rise locally, they are playing more and more gigs further from home. Apart from Reading, the band have recently played the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool dubbed ‘the most famous club in the world’.

The future looks bright for the ambitious Telford lads whose dreams of chart success may not be so far away.

Jenny

Tom
Pants

Tony
Best dance band around.

Kris
I think Keith is confused! They are the best young talent I have seen in a long time! I wouldnt be surprised if they became one of the biggest and best in years to come!

James
I can not believe what Keith is saying. Stage presence is the main thing they have! They have the X Factor, brilliant energy and charisma on stage. They will be massive, I bet you! I think their writing will develop. Their material is very catchy and well writen but I think they could be a bit more creative at times with structure. They have a great future ahead of them.

Keith
I think this band are going to suffer from too much praise. Whilst they aren't a bad band by any means they have got a long long way to go before they can really think about being a successful band. I have seen them play live on many occassions and have enjoyed them. However they lack the writing ability and stage presence to really cut it as a professional live act. Lots of potential but I hope they don't get a bit too bowled over by the hype and stop learning because they still have a lot to do.

Rayma Derbyshire
We saw them busking in Shrewsbury more than a year ago and they were excellent, completely ear catching, a true quality of sound. A handsome and charming bunch too!

holly
Well done hey edison for winning a place at Leeds fest. I have been dancing round my room to the ep while packing all week!

James
I LOVE HEY EDISON! I LOVE HEY EDISON! I LOVE HEY EDISON... I DO

Paul
Anyone that thinks funk died with betsy collins needs to appreciate the fact that these guys dont call themselves a 'funk' band...it is just a word used to describe the funky flair of the what it primarily pop music. Ive seen them many times and I really cant fault them at all, the tunes are catchy, the rhythms are tight and as a band they can compare to anyone Ive seen live. With hlaf decent sound in a half decent these guys can blow away anyone seen in the chart today...imagine them with a great venue and great sound! Ive heard that this was the case in the Cavern.

stacie
woah get Hey Edison to the V festival! they deserve it, they're such a talented band, all their tunes will get you dancing! The cavern club was an ace gig! The best Ive heard them play! Love em!!

Rich
I saw Hey Edison at there launch and it was amazeing deffinately ones to watch.

Rob
Saw you at the Little Civic for your launch. You guys were great but I thought the support band Gran Torino were awesome. You guys should do some more work together

James
Whoever this Daniel is is an idiot. The only people who don't like there music are festigios!

Daniel
Utter Rubbish, Funk died with Bootsy Collins. They are a poor mans Reef (thats saying something) combined with very poor white funk. Spirit is there but the music is dire

Rollasoc, The Hair Thieves.
Love the EP and recent live performances.

rich
awesome

WeeMann, HMV
Hey Edison are a damn fine band who should keep plugging away at what they quite clearly enjoy. We played a double header with them a couple of weeks ago at a Telford Rocks Exclusive gig and they put in a storming set. Keep at it guys!

Paula
