The Big PictureYou are in: Shropshire > The Big Picture > Make a world record Make a world recordJoin The Big Picture team in workshops across the Midlands to make the world's largest photo mosaic. Secret imageEight pictures have now been shortlisted from thousands submitted to The Big Picture campaign.听But only one image will be used to form the overall pattern of the final mosaic and this will be kept secret until the grand unveiling outside Thinktank at Birmingham's Millennium Point on Saturday 23 August.
The Big Picture is now asking you to help make the mosaic in a series of workshops across the West Midlands. The Big Picture team, with artist Helen Marshall, have selected the images for their unique boldness, fascinating stories and their suitability to be reproduced on the mosaic's huge scale. The eight final images The final mosaic will be of a size equivalent to three tennis courts and made up of 110,000 images, all of which have been sent into the project. Selecting just eight images out of the thousands sent in from people across the region was a mammoth task.听However, Project Manager Kerry Endsor was determined to find that final image: "The final mosaic image should reflect one of the photos received from the public." Kerry and the team worked hard to identify a shortlist of photos that not only represented the diversity of images sent in, but also an image that could work on the scale needed to break the world record. But every single photo you've sent in is vital to the record attempt, as Kerry Endsor explained: "The great thing about The Big Picture is that every single photo received will be used in the mosaic." last updated: 22/07/2008 at 16:44 SEE ALSOYou are in: Shropshire > The Big Picture > Make a world record Workshops in August
