Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori in Kites

Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori in Kites

Kites

A moving tale between two people that goes beyond linguistic barriers.

Director: Anurag Basu
Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut, Barbara Mori

Kites is a romantic tale between an Indian man and a Mexican beauty. ‘J’ (Hrithik) is a clever, street smart, charming sort of guy who teaches salsa dancing for a living.

In his class, enters Kangana Ranaut, a girl from a rich aristocratic family. She becomes J’s ardent student. It is not long before she secretly falls for her dancing teacher.

But just at this point in time, a twist of fate changes J’s destiny. He turns out to be the most wanted man left to die in the scorching desert heat of Mexico. The only desire keeping him alive now is for him to find the woman he truly loves – Natasha (Barbara Mori).

Whether she is engaged to another man makes no difference to J. Nor does the language barrier between the two – Natasha only speaks Spanish whilst J only speaks Hindi.

J is happy to bear all the troubles provided he can be close to the girl she loves.

The fate of the couple is being kept a closely guarded secret by the director until the release of the movie this Diwali festival season.

A press conference and cocktail event has been organised for the launch of Kites at this years Cannes Film Festival.

For the very first time, specific time slots have been allocated to showcase trailers from this movie on the two digital screens adjacent to the red carpet entrance of the Palais during the festival.

Produced by Rakesh Roshan, Kites will release with Hindi and English subtitles in order to attract a crossover audience in UK cinemas.
