Directed by: Ashutosh Gowariker
Cast: Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra
A romantic comedy revolving around a young guy called Yogesh Patel. Yogesh dreams of falling in love one day rather than having an arranged marriage.
Till suddenly he is told that he must find his dream girl within ten days to save his family from utter ruin. Finding the perfect girl is tough enough. Finding her in a hurry is even tougher!
So he decides to meet one girl from each raashee (meaning sun sign). He feels this is the best way to make sure he finds a suitable wife while also giving himself twelve chances to fall in love.
Two meetings per day gives him six days to meet them, three days to make a final decision and he can get married on the tenth day. That鈥檚 the plan but will it work?
What's Your Raashee? (meaning what's your sun sign?) is director Ashutosh Gowariker's first romantic comedy. It stars Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. They previously appeared together in the sci-fi flick, Love Story 2050.
The film has been shot across 65 locations in Mumbai including Gujarat and Chicago. What鈥檚 special about this movie is the fact that lead actress Priyanka Chopra will be playing 12 different roles to represent the signs of the zodiac. Now this is well worth a watch!
What鈥檚 more, the director has also attempted to shoot a song sequence in one continuous take.
Titled, Aaja Lehrate, Gowarikar used five cameras at various angles to capture the dance sequence.
Such a feat was last attempted by director Farah Khan for the song titled, Chale Jaise Hawaayien from the movie Main Hoon Na (2004).
Ashutosh Gowariker's films are synonymous with A R Rahman's tunes, but for his latest venture, What's Your Rashee?, he has used a new composer, Sohail Sen.
From fast paced numbers, romantic songs to Arabic and folk tunes, Sen, son of music composer Sameer Sen, has worked hard for Gowarikar鈥檚 film.
The film has 13 songs, each representing the 12 zodiac signs.
The movie is all set to release this September in UK cinemas by distributor UTV Motion Pictures. Well worth a watch due to it's novel storyline and direction by renowned Bollywood filmmaker, Gowariker.
