Living
in the heart of cosmopolitan Mumbai, is businessman Mr. Verma (Kabir
Bedi). His pride and joy lies in the happiness of his two daughters
who he has single- headedly reared since their childhood days. Though
his love towards both remains undivided, he is over protective of
his elder daughter Ayesha (Sameera Reddy) due to her shy and innocent
nature.
Soon enough, Ayesha is exposed to the fast paced Mumbai life on
her first day at college where she meets an orphaned student by
the name of Ajay.
Their
friendship gradually turns to love under the watchful eye of Mr
Chopra (Dalip Tahil), a conniving business associate of Verma.
He has always wanted to get his son married off to Ayesha thereby
furthering his business prospects.
As
a result, he immediately cautions Verma by painting a very poor
and negative picture of Ajay. Hence
the dark side of Mumbai is unleashed as Chopra, calls upon the widely
notorious Bhaijaan (Sanjay Dutt), to rough up Ajay without Verma's
knowledge.
With
the strong belief that Verma is instrumental in getting him beaten
up, Ajay challenges that he will marry Ayesha within 24 hours. A
shocked Verma retaliates by promising Ajay that he will use all
his power to prevent him from even coming close to his daughter.
Blinded
by his self respect and dignity, Mr Verma decides to get his daughter
married within the next 24 hours to Chopra's son.
But
now Ajay, unarmed yet determined, is left with 24 crucial hours
to win over the only woman he has ever loved. He is prepared to
overcome any hurdle placed by Verma or Chopra.
In
the crucial 24 hours, does Ajay prove successful in his quest to
counteract Chopra's negative forces? Does Ajay prove successful
in his challenge with Verma? And does he safely find his way in
time to Ayesha's wedding? Watch
Sohail Khan in action to find out more!
‘Maine
Dil Tujhko Diya’ runs smoothly in the first half until the entry
of Sanjay Dutt as Baijaan at intermission. It’s from this point
that the film picks up speed by giving its audience a thrill ride
to remember right up to an extremely well executed climax.
Technically,
the film excels in all departments. This is complimented by a riveting
musical score and spell binding backdrop in the song and dance sequences.
One
can safely say that this film definitely belongs to Sohail Khan
who succeeds in showcasing his various hidden talents. His physical
stature further enhances his screen presence thus making him a confident
debutante.
Sameera
Reddy supports well but its actor Sanjay Dutt who takes the credit
for his breathtaking performance as Baijaan.
