Aitraaz
is the story of Raj Malhotra (Akshay Kumar), an affluent businessman
who is popular amongst his circle of friends and work colleagues.
Despite
all that is going for him, Raj faces a bleak future. He is accused
of a crime. He must now prove his innocence.

Raj
is not alone in his troubles. He is ably supported by his wife,
Priya (Kareena Kapoor). She is an unshakeable character who was
once a lawyer herself - she is prepared to do anything to protect
her husband's honour.
The
third character in this tense thriller is Sonia Sharma (Priyanka
Chopra). An ambitious model with great aspirations, she is focused
on what she wants.
She
is prepared to achieve her goals, whatever the price.
Indeed,
if money makes the world go round, a woman can bring the world to
a standstill. That's exactly what Sonia does. She succeeds in bringing
Raj's world to a complete halt.
As
the case goes to court we are faced with the wrath of Ram Choitrani
(Annu Kapoor), the defence lawyer.
Careful,
convincing and conniving, Ram Choitrani provides the perfect defence
but little does he know that he is about to get embroiled in a fateful
web... with no way out.

Mr
Patel (Paresh Rawal) is just as good as Ram. He is the shrewd prosecution
lawyer who believes in one thing - winning.
Success
has a strange affinity towards him. But will he be able to succeed
once again? Or is he in for a surprise?
Thrown
into this web of deceit is Raj's boss, Ranjit Roy (Amrish Puri).
To complicate matters, he is having an affair with Sonia. Because
of this, many lives are thrown out of gear.
Can
he afford to ignore the situation that he is in, or will he just
accept it?
Aitraaz
comes from the masters of whodunits, namely the Abbas-Mustaan duo.
Renowned
for their slick direction with plenty of chills and thrills, these
directors already have a track record of box office hits like Baaziger,
Soldier, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Humraaz and Ajnabee.
Aitraaz
stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor who have already worked
with the duo. But the person to watch out for is Priyanka Chopra.

'She
is ready to shock the audience with her spell binding performance
in this film', says Sunil Shah, the distributor for Tip Top
Entertainment in the UK.
The
trailer for Aitraaz, which will be broadcast on most Asian
satellite channels from around October 12th, appears inviting, with
its slick state-of-the-art direction, narration and musical score.
So
a box office battle is about to begin on 12th November as Aitraaz
and Veer Zaara go head-to-head for audiences' attention.
