This
romantic melodrama revolves around two characters who seemingly have
nothing in common.
Karan
(Bobby Deol) is a wealthy businessman. He prides himself of having
a mansion and a private jet which can take him to places of his
choice at short notice.
On
the contrary, Raj (Akshay Kumar) has no money at all but the sky's
the limit as far as drive and determination are concerned.
He
can only rely on his own two feet to take him anywhere.
Even
though Karan has a family, he desperately craves for love, which
he has never experienced. Meanwhile, Raj has always been surrounded
by love from his close ones but craves for the warmth of a family.
Despite
being different in more ways than one, these two characters share
one common ground and one that leads to a special bond of friendship.
If
Karan gave Raj a home and all the material comforts, Raj gave Karan
a shoulder to cry on.
If
Karan supported Raj in whatever he did, Raj covered up for all of
Karan's misdoings.
They
laughed together, lied together, loved together and fought the odds
together all in the name of Dosti (meaning friendship).
But
it was this very world that never let them forget that theirs was
not a relationship of equals. And how long could an unequal relationship
be sustained?
Soon
their friendship takes a sudden turn and is challenged. Is it simply
a misunderstanding?
Will
this mean the end of their friendship? Or will they hold onto each
other despite their differences?
Dosti
is yet another melodrama from director Suneel Dharshan of (recently-released)
Barsaat fame.
The
film stars Suneel's favourite heroes, Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol
and heroines Lara Dutta and Kareena Kapoor.
The
film's music, composed by Nadeem-Sharavan, is already proving to
be popular.
Predicted
to be the biggest box office earner this Christmas, Dosti releases
on 22 December in UK cinemas.
