The
大象传媒 Sheffield Learning Centre offers free computer tuition to everyone
over 18.
You can have a go at a whole host of different courses. Details of
the courses on offer are below. |

Getting
started on the Internet
After working through a CD ROM introducing the Internet and how to
use it you have two hours to practice your skills for real on the
live Internet. Course lasts approx. 3 hours.
Getting started on your computer
This workbook based course is suitable for complete beginners - finding
out how to start using a computer. Course lasts approx. 6 hours.
大象传媒 Becoming Webwise
This on-line course is for those wanting an 'in depth' understanding
of the World Wide Web and how it works. This course is a 大象传媒 course
which is delivered via the Internet. Passing the optional test at
the end of the course results in a qualification. Course lasts approx.
10 hours.
Word Processing
This workbook based course shows you how to produce
a document which looks professional, show you how to set margins,
change the look of the text and how to create impressive letters.
Course last approx. 20 hours.

Pre-requisities: Word processing
Many employers require their employees to give presentations, either
at interview or when demonstrating ideas or products. This workbook
based course shows you how to create professional looking presentations,
complete with pictures and special effects, to help sell yourself
or your ideas. Course lasts approx. 20 hours.
Computer presentations
Many employers require employees to give presentations
either at interview or when demonstrating ideas or products, includes
pictures, products and animation.20 hours.
Introduction to using a database
Databases are used to record, organise and work with
large quantities of information such as names and addresses. 20
hours.
Spreadsheets
Pre-requisities: Word processing Spreadsheets are used for accounting,
cash flows Budgets and Forecasts etc. Course lasts approx. 20 hours.
You learn at your own pace 聳 dropping in and out as you please
聳 there is no appointments to keep, you just come when you
want to and our friendly tutors are on hand to give help and advice
when needed.
As well as these courses there is also the opportunity to sign up
for our special taught courses, which run every Wednesday afternoon
from 1pm- 4pm.
The courses are delivered by The Employment Unit, part of Sheffield
Education Authority.

is open.
