Radio Sheffield stepped forward because of Fred's long-standing connection with its listeners, and held a free exhibition at 大象传媒 Radio Sheffield's Open Centre in June 2008.

His Indian ink drawings depict the world of art, music, politics and sport - and among them are sketches of Sheffield Wednesday players and managers, but the drawings are not for sale.

Fred's nostalgic book, Weerz Me Dad?,听is a humorous account of growing up in Sheffield during the 1940s and 1950s. In 2005, Sheffield people voted the bestseller their second favourite book ever, and it raised thousands of pounds for St. Luke's Hospice. Fred also wrote Weerz Me Mam?, some of the proceeds of which go to St. Luke's Hospice.
