Picture
ID - s15354
Known info - Tram
track laying on unidentified street
Lindsey B - Could it be Attercliffe Road, near Banners?
Frank - I think its down Hillsbrough
Annalee - I Think the picture is late 1800's facing town
hall or round surrey street
Hannah - i think its down near primar, opposite the bottom
of fargate...cud be hillsborough
jack - i think its the beging of the wicker where the arches
are
bob - jack's right it the wicker where the arches are
danny - jack's right it the beging of wicker
Roger - Sorry, but the track alignment's wrong for both these!
It's a line down to a "tee" junction, & looks like
it's from the 1898-9 Tinsley - Nether Edge electrification. Not
as easy as that though - if you look at shots of the Moor, Sheefield
laid points & short lengths of track up side streets (Ellen
St's a well known one)"just in case" they might be needed.
Modern tram engineers are aghast at the thought, & cost, of
it!!
Colin Saunders - Don't know where picture was taken but I
definitely do know i'ts not the Wicker. I know because Iv'e lived
in that district most of my life.
Carol Walker - I definately think this is the terminus at
Holme Lane, Hillsborough.
Baz - i would say top of the moor.near the grapes vaults
button lane just out of picture on the left.
