Oban Camanachd and Kingussie reach Macaulay Cup final

The Artemis Macaulay Cup final in Oban on 17 August will be a rematch of the 2023 encounter after holders Oban Camanachd overwhelmed Glasgow Mid Argyll 8-1 and Kingussie beat Lovat 4-2 in the semi finals.
Caberfeidh went top of the Mowi Premiership on goal difference with a 3-3 draw with Kyles, although Kingussie have three games in hand.
Glenurquhart find themselves all but relegated following a 3-1 defeat on Skye while Lochaber鈥檚 concerns over the drop deepened when they lost 5-2 at home to Newtonmore.
At the Macaulay Cup鈥檚 home at Mossfield Park, Ross MacMillan, Matthew Sloss and Malcom Clark, who converted a penalty, got two each for Camanachd as Daniel MacVicar and Craig MacMillan both scored one. Cailean MacLeod pulled one back for Mid Argyll at the death.
Savio Genini and Dylan Borthwick gave Kingussie an early 2-0 lead at neutral Beauly. Graeme MacMillan replied for Lovat before Borthwick鈥檚 second. In the second half, Fraser Heath once again gave Lovat hope but Ruaraidh Anderson then clinched it for Kingussie.
A Kevin Bartlett penalty gave Caberfeidh an early lead before James Pringle and Ross MacRae gave Kyles the advantage. Gavin McLaughlan and Craig Morrison edged Cabers back in front in advance of Connor Kennedy鈥檚 second equaliser for the visiting team.
Dan MacDonald and Archie Millar scored for Skye at either extremity of the first half, bookending an equaliser from Oliver Black. Jamie Gillies grabbed Skye鈥檚 third early in the second half leaving Glen鈥檚 survival hopes at best theoretical.
Newtonmore鈥檚 Martin Hall and Lochaber鈥檚 Ben Delaney traded early goals before a double from Iain Robinson and Hall鈥檚 second put More out of sight. Delaney also completed a double and Joe Coyle got Newtonmore鈥檚 fifth.
Three goals in extra-time gave Glengarry a 5-2 victory over Kilmory in the final of the single team competition at Ballachulish.
