Three-time Paralympic boccia champion David Smith has missed out on bronze in the Boccia Men鈥檚 Individual BC1.
Swansea-based Smith won the first end and secured three points against Indonesia鈥檚 Syafa Muhamad but ultimately lost 5-3.
鈥淚 wasn鈥檛 really thinking about the medals, just playing as well as I could. I gave myself the best possible chance, I just ran out of gas,鈥 Smith said.
鈥淚 knew I would lose at some point, it鈥檚 just unfortunate it happened in a semi-final I should have won.
鈥淧laying a bronze medal match against my biggest rival, it could have gone either way. Unfortunately, the floor suited him.鈥
Smith will be back in action in the Mixed Team BC1/BC2 event on Tuesday.
