Great Britain鈥檚 Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson won their second Grand Prix ice dance gold of the season to secure their place in the ISU Grand Prix Final.

The pair, who almost did not compete after Fear hurt her leg in training on Friday, were second after the rhythm dance at the Finlandia Trophy in Helsinki before overtaking Canadian favourites Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier in Sunday鈥檚 free dance.

It was a third Grand Prix gold of their career for Fear and Gibson, who are top of the world rankings and in a good position to shine at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy,

The two-time European silver medallists will be seeking to become the first British figure skaters to win an Olympic medal since Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in 1994.

Fear, 25, and Gibson, 30, will compete in the British Championships in Sheffield on 30 November before heading to the Grand Prix Final in Grenoble, France on 4 December.

They will be hoping to improve on the fourth-place finishes they achieved at the past two editions of the event, which features the top six skaters or pairs in each discipline after the six-part Grand Prix Series.

鈥淥ur goal is to get as much out of the training as we can, and learn from the scores here, and all the feedback, and then just continue to build with each competition,鈥 Fear said.
