Jersey's Zane Duquemin broke a second Island Games record in the space of two days to add the discus gold medal to his shot putt win.

Duquemin threw 56.43m to win the discus event, beating the Games record he had set in 2009 by more than 6m.

The Jerseyman's effort was more than 12m further than his nearest competitor in the Isle of Wight.

Meanwhile his sister Shadine Duquemin won gold for Jersey in the women's shot putt with a distance of 12.21m.

She told 大象传媒 Radio Jersey: "I am relatively happy but a bit disappointed with the distance.

"I didn't hit any quite right so I know there's a lot more to come but it was still good enough on the day."

Her brother said: "It's good for her. She's doing well, she's got a lot of talent.

"People say she's following in my footsteps, but she's got her own path to follow."

Elliott Dorey continued the athletics success with a bronze in the 800m.
