Zane Duquemin has been named the 2015 Jersey Sports Person of the Year by the island's Sports Council.

The 25-year-old won the 2015 British indoor shot-put title in Sheffield with a throw of 17.72m.

He also broke his own Island Games records in winning gold for Jersey in both shot-put and discus last summer.

The Atlantic Rim Bowls Championship-winning side of Greg Davis, Scott Ruderham, Cyril Renouf and Gus Hodgetts were named as Team of the Year.

They beat the island's cricket team, which qualified for the Global Qualifiers for the Twenty20 World Cup, and the island's women's football team which won a first-ever Island Games gold.

Tom du Feu was recognised for more than half a century of association with St Peter Football Club by being awarded with the Sid Guy lifetime achievement award.
