Cameron Chalmers: Guernsey 400m runner wins English Under-20 title
Guernsey's Cameron Chalmers has won the English Under-20 400m title.
The 19-year-old, who won gold at last summer's Island Games, clocked a time of 46.88 seconds, one hundredth of a second off his personal best.
But the time was outside the qualifying standard for next month's World Under-20 Championships.
Chalmers, who was second in this year's UK Indoor Championships, has one last chance to run the required time at next weekend's Olympic Trials in Birmingham.
Meanwhile, Sam Wallbridge won bronze in the Under-20 400m hurdles.
