Tokyo Olympics: Canoeist Hannah Craig misses out on qualifying for Games at European Championships
Canoeist Hannah Craig has missed out on qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics after failing to reach the semi-finals of the European Championships.
The Armoy native needed a top-10 finish in her second run in the K1 class but finished 12th, missing out by 0.86 seconds after making a strong start.
Craig, 39, was a finalist at the 2012 Games in London before failing to qualify for Rio four years later.
She had stepped back from the sport after 2016.
Craig, who finished 10th at the 2012 Olympics in London, had said before Thursday's race that she hoped her new perspective on the sport would help her secure Olympic qualification for the second time.
