Olympic gold medallist Joe Clarke has returned to Great Britain's squad for the Games after being named among the team selected for Paris 2024.

The 31-year-old became Britain's first individual K1 gold medal winner at the 2016 Games in Rio but was left out for the postponed Tokyo Games in 2021.

Mallory Franklin, Kimberley Woods and Adam Burgess have also been included by Team GB.

"I can't wait for Paris and I'm delighted to be selected," said Clarke.

"Obviously, I missed out on Tokyo and to go again eight years later is great. I'm a completely different athlete now."

Clarke will be competing in the men's K1 and kayak cross events in France.

"I won the Olympics once, I really want to go out next year and do the double this time round with two opportunities to win medals," he added.

"It's special heading as reigning world champion. It adds a target to my back, but I have high expectations of myself so I'm very excited."

Franklin will compete in the women's C1 and kayak cross, while Woods will be in the K1 and kayak cross.

Burgess will race in the men's C1 event.
