Commonwealth Games: England's James Willstrop and Declan James win men's doubles squash gold
James Willstrop and Declan James beat fellow England pair Daryl Selby and Adrian Waller to win Commonwealth Games gold in the final of the men's squash doubles.
World doubles champions Willstrop and James won 11-3 7-11 11-9 at the University of Birmingham squash centre.
They bettered the bronze medal they won in 2018.
England's Sarah-Jane Perry and Alison Waters claimed silver, losing in the women's doubles final.
The pair lost 11-8 11-8 to defending champions Joelle King and Amanda Landers-Murphy of New Zealand.
Willstrop said: "We've worked so hard, we've put so much time and effort in. Doubles isn't a game we play all the time but in the last two years there's so much work that's gone on behind the scenes.
"We've been on the losing end to them too - every practice match we play is ridiculous. It's an incredible emotion at the moment."
James said: "This is now probably the best day of my squash career."
