Worcestershire captain Brett D'Oliveira has agreed a new contract to run until the end of the 2027 season.

The 31-year-old led the Pears to promotion from Division Two of the County Championship last summer.

He has scored more than 5,000 runs in first-class cricket and over 3,500 in white-ball formats.

"Going into Division One presents a different, tougher challenge, but one I know the group are looking forward to, and so am I," he said.

"I still feel 18, probably the biggest kid within the group, and that banter and being with the boys, I still absolutely love it.

"I've got so much more to give, and so many more years to play hopefully, and let's just concentrate on these four years, but hopefully there is a bit more after that as well."

D'Oliveira, the grandson of Worcestershire and England legend Basil, has played more than 300 matches for the county since his first-team debut in 2011.

"His influence extends beyond the field, bringing enthusiasm, energy, and leadership to the team. He's a vital player for us, especially as we face the challenges of Division One cricket," said head coach Alan Richardson.
