Annabel Sutherland hit a superb 210 - the fourth-highest score in a women's Test - as Australia continued to dominate South Africa on day two of the one-off Test in Perth.

It helped the hosts make the highest women's Test total, 575-9 declared, having dismissed South Africa for 76.

The 22-year-old reached 200 from her 248th delivery, making it the fastest women's Test double century.

South Africa ended the day 67-3, facing defeat with their deficit still 432.

Kim Garth had opener Anneke Bosch caught for a four-ball duck in the first over before nicking off Sune Luus for five.

The tourists were 13-3 when captain Laura Wolvaardt was caught behind off Darcie Brown but Tazmin Britis and Delmi Tucker held firm with an unbeaten stand of 54 to see out the day.

All-rounder Sutherland earlier put on 144 with Ash Gardner, 86 with Sophie Molineux and 62 with Garth to press on from Australia's overnight score of 251-5.

She resumed on 54 and reached her second Test ton from 149 balls before moving to 200 in her next 99.

The right-hander hit 27 fours and two sixes in her 256 balls before falling when caught off an attempted scoop off spinner Chloe Tryon.

Her score was three short of the highest Test score by an Australian women, Ellyse Perry's 213 not out. She also fell short of Kiran Baluch's record score of 242 for Pakistan against West Indies in 2004.

Gardner also made 65 while Garth was 49 not out when captain Alyssa Healy, who made 99 on day one, declared.
