Jersey get record win in T20 World Cup qualifier

Jersey eased to a record 165-run win over Serbia in their opening European Qualifier for the 2026 T20 World Cup in Germany.

Batting first the islanders made 233-3 as they recorded their highest-ever score in a T20 international.

Openers Harrison Carlyon and Nick Greenwood made 194 for the first wicket in Germany as Carlyon scored 110 off 57 balls.

In reply, Jersey bowled out Serbia for just 68 off 18.2 overs as Greenwood took three wickets.

The win puts Jersey in a good position at the start of Europe sub regional Qualifier B.

The winner of their five-team pool will face the top side in the other group next weekend for a place in the final round of European qualifying for the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Jersey - who have reached the final stage of qualifying for the last four T20 World Cups - next play Switzerland on Tuesday.

Batting first Greenwood and Carlyon have Serbia little hope as they set about taking their bowling attack apart.

Carlyon smashed 10 sixes and four fours in his impressive innings as he became the first Jersey batter to make a century in a T20 international.

Wellington opener Greenwood鈥檚 85 not out off 52 balls. was the joint fourth-highest Jersey score in a T20.

The partnership was ended when Carlyon was run out in the 17th over, with Jonty Jenner being caught for a duck off the next ball.

Zak Tribe hit nine off eight balls before being caught off the penultimate ball of the innings as Jersey ended on 233-3.

They then continued to dominate their opponents with Simo Ivetic (14) and Luka Woods (21) the only Serbian batters to make double figures.

Greenwood took 3-8 while Ben Ward and Charles Perchard each took two wickets as Jersey began with a statement victory.
