Smale & Macdonald-Gay join England in South Africa
Wicketkeeper-batter Seren Smale and seamer Ryana Macdonald-Gay have been called into England's squad in South Africa.
Smale, 19, has been added to the T20 and Test squads to act as back-up wicketkeeper to Amy Jones in place of Bess Heath, who has returned home with a fractured thumb.
Macdonald-Gay, 20, has only been added for the Test match between 15 and 18 December which concludes the multi-format series.
Both players made their England debuts during the white-ball series against Ireland in September but are uncapped in Tests.
Wales-born Smale, who plays for Lancashire, played in two T20s while Kent's Macdonald-Gay played two one-day internationals and one T20.
England won the first T20 by four wickets on Sunday, with the three-match series followed by three ODIs before the Test match.
The second T20 takes place in Benoni on Wednesday at 16:00 GMT.
