Hampshire batter Weatherley signs new contract
Hampshire batter Joe Weatherley has signed a new one-year deal to keep him at the Utilita Bowl until at least 2025.
Winchester-born Weatherley, 27, made his debut for Hampshire in 2016 and has since scored 5,031 runs across all formats.
"It feels awesome to have signed a contract extension, Hampshire feels very much like home," he
"I first pulled on a Hampshire shirt when I was nine and I'm really looking forward to next season."
Weatherley has particularly impressed for Hampshire in T20 cricket, most notably in 2022 when he scored 347 runs as the Hawks won their third Blast crown.
The following year, Weatherley again impressed, hitting 379 runs at an average of 42 as Hampshire reached a third successive Finals Day.
"It's great that Joe has extended his stay," Hampshire director of cricket Giles White said.
"He's a valued member of the squad and has been a consistent performer in the middle order of our T20 side over a number of years."
