Match scorecard

Glamorgan and Gloucestershire were forced to wait at least a day for the start of their final Championship match after heavy overnight rain in Cardiff.

The two counties, playing for the minor placings in Division Two, both have limited-overs trophies to celebrate, with Glamorgan clinching the One Day Cup earlier in the week, following Gloucestershire’s T20 Blast win nine days earlier.

A wet outfield prevented any play during the morning session and a torrential 15-minute downpour arrived just before midday that left lakes on the outfield.

Umpires Mark Newell and Simon Widdup called play off for the day at 12:45 BST.

Glamorgan batter Asa Tribe was also named in the Jersey squad for the ICC Challenge League in Kenya, as part of the T20 World Cup.

His brother Zak hit a century for the islanders against Qatar while Asa was cutting a lone figure, shadow-batting in the middle at Sophia Gardens.
