Gerwyn Price cannot wait to get back into competitive action this weekend in the new PDC Home Tour.

Darts players will compete against each other from their homes via video link.

The tournament starts on Friday evening and world number three Price is in action on Saturday, taking on Austria's Rowby-John Rodriguez in Group Two's opening match.

"I'm missing it terribly," two-time Grand Slam of Darts champion Price, 35, told 大象传媒 Radio 5 Live.

"I used to complain about being on the road all the time - the Premier League, Europeans, pro tours.

"But I'm just looking forward to getting back playing. I'll never complain again, I promise you!"

Four players will be in action each evening in a league format before the knockout stage of the competition.

World champion Peter Wright will take on Peter Jacques in the opening game of the tournament, with Welsh former World Championship semi-finalist Jamie Lewis and Niels Zonneveld of the Netherlands also lining up in Group One.

Each match will be broadcast via video calls - filmed on a mobile phone on a tripod - on the PDC's own TV channel and can be watched free by registered users.

Price is hoping there will be no distractions, or that his family do not get peckish, for his match with Rodriguez.

"I brought my set-up from my practice room, my man cave we built, we stripped that out of there and set it up tidy - with the proper measurements - in the kitchen," said the Welsh former rugby union hooker.

"So hopefully my daughters now will stay upstairs for a couple of hours while I'm playing and I can just get on with it.

"It's probably going to be the same as the pro tours, the ones behind closed doors, where it's totally different to a tour on the main stage.

"You have to keep yourself within, but sometimes it's hard to do that when you've got big shots out or win matches.

"Don't get me wrong, I've had a few slaps on the wrist for not being quiet on pro tours as well!"
