Gerwyn Price withdraws from Players Championship over 'less than amateur' conditions

Gerwyn Price withdrew from Players Championship 1 midway through a match and blamed the "less than amateur conditions" in Wigan for his decision.
The Welshman withdrew from his last-16 match with Northern Ireland's Brendan Dolan, who was 4-2 ahead in a race to six legs.
But Price left and without specifying reasons wrote on social media: "Absolutely pathetic conditions."
The PDC stated: "We understand he [Price] felt the venue was cold."
Price had also posted: "Travel all the way to Wigan to play in a professional game and we have to play in less than amateur conditions.
"Never have I ever given a game up. Well that's me out of tomorrow as well.
"Gutted because my game was really good today and I rely on these events so much."
The 38-year-old averaged 110 in his triumph over Dennant at Robin Park Tennis Centre before facing Dolan.
Elsewhere at the tournament, teenager Luke Littler hit a nine-dart finish as he beat Michele Turetta 6-1.
Price is now expected to return to action on night three of the Premier League in Glasgow on Thursday.
