Littler beats Bunting to win Players Championship 20
Luke Littler beat Stephen Bunting 8-7 to win the Players Championship 20 title in Wigan.
Littler had led 5-1 but won only two of the following eight legs as fellow Englishman Bunting, 39, levelled at 7-7 in the best-of-15 final.
However, the 17-year-old held his nerve on the final leg to get over the line and record his seventh victory of the day.
Littler had earlier recorded a comprehensive 6-2 win against world champion Luke Humphries in the quarter-finals, and beat Dave Chisnall 7-2 in the semis.
It is the third Players Championship crown that Little has collected in 2024 and comes only two days after he won his maiden World Series of Darts Finals title in Amsterdam.
The Premier League Darts champion has won 12 matches in succession across two competitions.
