Northern Ireland skier Kelly Gallagher aims for world medals

Northern Ireland paralympic skier Kelly Gallagher will be aiming to win medals at the IPC World Championships in the north east of Spain over the next week.

The county Down woman will be competing in all five events for visually-impaired athletes with her guide Charlotte Evans at La Molina.

Gallagher said: "I've been a full-time athlete since 2010 and although we don't have the same infrastructure as the Americans or Canadians it has never affected my belief that it is achievable.

"Vancouver was an amazing experience but having achieved something in the World Championships we are really hoping to push on and use this week as a good base going into the qualifying procedure for Sochi."

Competition starts on Wednesday and continues through to 27 February.
