Zoltan Gera will have to wait a few more weeks to start his second spell at West Bromwich Albion after suffering a setback in his return from injury.

The Hungarian, 32, had ankle surgery shortly after following his release by Fulham.

"Gera is still in rehabilitation, he can't go straight into a game," head coach Roy Hodgson said.

"He hasn't trained for almost three weeks since he had the recurrence of the ankle injury in training."

It was hoped Gera would be fit for Saturday's game at Sunderland but the club are now targeting his comeback in the Black Country derby with Wolves on Sunday, 16 October.

"I'm pretty sure that come the end of the international break, he'll be raring to go," Hodgson continued.

Hodgson also confirmed Somen Tchoyi is back to full fitness for Saturday's trip to the Stadium of Light.
