Director of football Mike Davies was in charge at TNS for 18 months

Mike Davies has resigned as director of football after just 18 months in charge at Welsh Premier side The New Saints.

TNS won the 2010 League Cup and finished second to Bangor City in last season's Welsh Premier since in April 2010.

Davies insists his decision is not due to recent results where the former leaders dropped to third in the league after winning just one point from nine.

"I think I can go with my head held high," Davies said.
